As soon as I hit the age of 21 I had reached my highest weight. It wasn’t only the numbers on the scale that alarmed me but I realized I always felt sick, tired, and had lost what was left of my self confidence. I avoided social gatherings, hanging out with my friends and even shopping with my boyfriend as most of the stores I shopped at the time didn’t even carry extra-large.
I took a year off of school and I decided it was a good opportunity to focus on myself and take the time to not only lose weight but get healthy. After I ordered dozens of DVDs from Beach Body and tried just about every diet in the book, I was eventually 49 lbs down and happier than ever. Happy was an understatement, I fit into cute clothes and felt confident enough to get a job and get back into school where I had made amazing new friends.
When 4th year came around, I studied full time, had a part time job and an internship which did not give me enough time to cook my own food and find time to work out. Instead I turned to fast food and working out from 5-6 days to none.
I took a look at this picture from last weekend and realized I was starting to gain again!
I may not be back to square one and definitely do not feel the way I once did about my body but I definitely miss feeling energized and healthy.
